Sanger, TX (Denton County) — Thursday, September 24, 2026. A 13-year-old Sanger ISD student died after a school bus veered off Huling Road near Lois Road East and rolled over Thursday afternoon, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. DPS said troopers responded to the single-vehicle crash at about 4:55 p.m. in unincorporated Denton County. A preliminary investigation indicates the bus was traveling northbound on Huling Road when it left the roadway, struck a culvert and rolled over. The student was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where the student died. DPS said the 38-year-old bus driver and three other students were treated at the scene for minor injuries; Sanger ISD said in a letter to families that no other students were injured. The cause remains under investigation.
