Three Killed After Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 121 in Fort Worth

Fort Worth, TX: On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, three people were killed after a wrong-way crash on State Highway 121 near North Riverside Drive. @dfwscanner first reported the incident around 1:20 a.m. According to Fort Worth Police, a Jeep with one adult driver was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Highway 121, also known as Airport Freeway. The Jeep first struck a vehicle with three occupants who tried to move out of the way and were hit on the rear driver's side. Police said those occupants did not suffer major injuries. The Jeep continued the wrong way and collided head-on with a four-door sedan carrying four people, including a child. The Jeep driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Two adult women in the sedan also died at the scene. The sedan's adult male driver and a child passenger, about 10 to 11 years old, were taken to local hospitals and are expected to survive. Fort Worth PD's Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating.
