Good Samaritan Killed on I-35W Near Felix Street in Fort Worth

Fort Worth, TX — September 18, 2026. Early this morning, a motorist who stopped to help after a crash on Interstate 35W near Felix Street was struck and killed by a passing vehicle, according to Fort Worth police and reports from DFW Scanner (@dfwscanner) and local news.

Location: I-35W near Felix Street in south Fort Worth, between Seminary Drive and I-20.

Impact: Around 2:30 a.m., police said a collision occurred on the freeway. Another driver stopped to assist people involved in that initial crash and was then hit and killed by a passing vehicle. One person from the initial crash was taken to a hospital, according to Fort Worth PD via CBS Texas. Victim identity and any charges related to the striking driver had not been publicly confirmed at the time of reporting.

Response: Fort Worth Police and Fire responded. Both directions of I-35W were closed for roughly four hours. Northbound lanes reopened around 6:20–6:30 a.m., with southbound lanes following shortly after, according to FOX 4 and CBS Texas citing Fort Worth PD and TxDOT.
